Visited Tea List in Davis last weekend. I have never had High-Tea in the States before, and knowing Davis has a High-Tea is definitely surprised me because “How come I never notice when I was studying here?” Anyways, I am glad I had a chance to visit here and I had a wonderful afternoon with Danny. Food/desserts are delicious, staff/owner is very friendly. I will come back next time :) This is indeed a great place to spend time with someone.

Photographer Imagines What World Cities Would Look Like Without Lights
French photographer Thierry Cohen wants to show you what the cities might look like if they went dark on a clear day, and if the photographer focused on bringing out the stars. His project Darkened Cities shows recognizable cityscapes in darkness under the night sky.
To create the images, Cohen first traveled to locations that are untainted by the light pollution of large urban areas, capturing beautiful night shots of the Milky Way floating overhead.
He then combined these photographs with manipulated photographs of various cities (e.g. San Francisco, New York City, Tokyo, Rio de Janerio) to complete the effect.

In the spring I went to have afternoon tea at Victoria’s Restaurant at the King Edward hotel…all the details are kind of fuzzy since it’s been 8 months, but I’ll try to recall as much as I can =P
We chose their basic afternoon tea which is called “The King’s Tea” and it was $35 per person. You can opt for the “Champagne Tea” which includes a glass of champagne for $55.
After informing our waiter of our selection, they brought over a box of teas for us to smell to decide which tea we would like to drink. This was so long ago that I have no idea which tea I ultimately chose -___-“
The tower of treats!
The finger sandwiches. They were pretty good! One of them was a pretty good combination of cucumber, radish and cream cheese!
The scones….were so-so. They weren’t as big, fluffy, and soft as the ones from the Windsor Arms (http://carolchan.tumblr.com/post/1175360765)
The assortment of desserts…was again…so-so. Nothing really stood out as OMG SO GOOD!
Yes…focus on the tower of treats and not the goofy-looking girl haha.
All in all not the best tea experience I’ve had (probably won’t make a return visit)…Windsor Arms still holds that title hands down.
